In detail
Squash is a quick game: booking it should be quicker.
Squash players often have one free hour between work and dinner, or a lunch break, and want to know in seconds whether a court is open. If they have to call and nobody picks up, they give up. With your sports center’s link they see the open times and book on their own.
Short, precise slots
Every enclosed court is a card with a name, a photo and a length: “Squash 1,” “Squash 2 with the glass back wall.” Squash is intense, and many clubs rent courts in 45-minute slots; you can offer the full hour too, and players choose. The calendar fits slots together without leaving fifteen-minute gaps. Up to 12 courts in the same account, each with its own opening hours. A game arranged at reception goes in within seconds, even by voice while you hand over the locker key.
Lunch break and after the office
Two windows matter most: 12:30 to 2:00 pm, and from 6:00 pm on. On each court you create up to three price bands by day and time, so lunch and evenings have their own rate and the afternoon gets a lower one. Players see the amount before they confirm. The price stays on the booking even if you change your rates in September, and if you don’t want it shown online, one switch hides it.
When the slot before runs over
With 45-minute slots, delays pile up fast. If two players walk out late, you mark the delay on the court and whoever comes next sees it on their page; anyone with notifications on also gets an alert on their phone, and if the delay rolls into later slots, those players hear about it too. Nobody waits in the hallway holding a racquet. Someone who doesn’t turn up you mark as a no-show, and their next bookings wait for your approval.
The usual opponent and the waiting list
Squash is almost always one on one, often against the same rival. Whoever books can send them the link: there the other player sees court, day and time and adds their name to the list of who’s playing. If every evening court is taken, players join the waiting list for the time they want and, with notifications on, get an alert as soon as one opens. You set the cancellation window, 24 hours by default. Reminders go as notifications to people who switched them on; others get a pre-written WhatsApp from the center’s number.
