In detail
A grooming salon with a full table and a quiet phone.
In a grooming salon the dog sets the pace: a Maltese dries in no time, while a wet Newfoundland keeps the tub busy for a good hour. If your diary does not know that, the morning piles up and owners wait by the door holding a leash. Here is how baths, trims and full grooms fit together through a link owners open on their phone.
One item for each size of job
The app does not ask for size or breed at booking time, so you handle the difference in your price list. The starting list already has four items: small dog bath at forty-five minutes, large dog bath at an hour, full groom at ninety minutes and nail trim at fifteen. Owners pick the right item and only see times where that job really fits, so hand-stripping a fox terrier never gets squeezed between two quick baths. Add your own: deshedding, flea treatment, cat grooming. Names and lengths can change whenever you like, and prices only show if you flip the switch.
The dog’s name lives in your contacts
A booking carries the owner’s name and phone number, not the pet’s. Every client in your contacts has plain text notes, though: that Brina is the cocker spaniel who hates the dryer, that Otto should be kept away from other males, that one owner always brings two dogs together. Owners booking from the link can leave a note for the business too, handy for saying the coat is badly matted or the dog comes muzzled. Open the appointment and everything is there, no notebook by the tub.
Two tables, two diaries
If two of you groom, each person has a diary with their own hours and only the items they handle: one does scissor work, the other runs the quick baths. You can go up to 12 people, and helpers join from an invite link with the permissions you choose. Lunch breaks, your weekly day off and the August holidays get blocked once. The notice at the top of your page explains what changes, for instance that full grooms before Christmas are mornings only.
On-time pickups, fewer empty slots
The real headache is pickup: the owner shows up while the dog is still under the dryer, or leaves it with you until evening. Running behind on the job before? Flag the delay with one tap and the next owner sees the new time on their page. The day before and two hours before, a notification goes out to anyone who switched them on; for owners who do not use notifications you send the prewritten WhatsApp message from the salon number. When someone cancels, people on the waitlist for that day get an alert. Anyone who skips without a word you mark as a no-show, and their next requests wait for your approval.
