In detail
Kids’ workshops with their own places, booked by parents.
A kids’ workshop has an exact number of places: the tables, the aprons, the materials prepared that morning. If sign-ups arrive by text, in group chats and in person at pick-up, the count never adds up and on Saturday you end up with three extra children or two empty chairs. Here is how parents book through a link instead.
The room and the workshops, with places
In the app your space is a room, and from its card you create the workshops, which the app calls classes: clay, painting, little experiments, cooking. For each one you pick the length and how many places it has, up to 50. At any given hour a room holds just one workshop, so painting never lands on top of clay. If you have a second room, it becomes another room with its own diary, and you can have up to 12. Closed weeks, like August, you mark once and nobody books over them.
The parent books, one place per child
The parent is the one who opens the link: they pick the workshop, see how many places are left and book with their own name and number. Every place is a booking, so two siblings take two places. The child’s name has no field of its own: the parent writes it in the note for the center, so at the door you know who to expect. Online each parent holds at most two active bookings; for other dates, or a third child, you add the bookings yourself from the diary, even by voice.
Workshop full, waiting list
Saturday workshops and the ones over the Christmas break fill up fast. When places are running low the page says so, and once they are gone the parent joins the waiting list. If a family drops out, the alert goes to whoever was waiting, provided they turned notifications on, and the place is taken again. Cancelling from the phone is allowed, by default, up to two hours before; you change that window, up to forty-eight hours, handy if you prepare materials the day before. Mark anyone who books and never shows, and their later bookings wait for your approval.
Reminders for parents and what stays out
Between school, sports and parties, a workshop is easy to forget. The reminder reaches parents who turned notifications on, the day before and two hours before unless you change it; for those without, you send it on WhatsApp with one tap, from the center’s number and with the text ready. If the earlier workshop runs long, mark the delay and the families after see the new time. The app collects no fees and sells no bundles of sessions: people pay as today. It keeps no records about children, pick-up authorizations or photo releases: those stay in your own forms.
