In detail
A pottery studio with every wheel taken at the right time.
A pottery studio has the spots it has: so many wheels, so much room at the hand-building table. When Wednesday evening is full, the last person to text is left out, and the messages land just when your hands are covered in clay. Here is how to let people book wheel, hand-building and glazing classes from a link.
Wheel, coils, glazes: you decide what’s on offer
When you sign the studio up, the app creates the room and one starter item; the rest you build yourself from the room’s card, item by item: beginners’ wheel, coil and slab building, slip and glaze decoration, raku on summer nights. For each one you choose how long it lasts and how many people it takes, counting the wheels you actually throw on or the stools around the bench, up to 50. The tip is to give each item its own day and hour, like wheel on Thursday at 7 pm and glazing on Saturday at 10: without a fixed schedule, whoever books an empty hour first would pick what happens in it. A second room gets a grid of its own, independent from the first.
Wheels counted, nobody left at the door
On your page everyone sees how many stools are still free around the clay, and a signal when the last ones are going. People reserve a place in the session, not that particular wheel: anyone with a favorite by the window asks on the way in. When a session is sold out, latecomers queue up without messaging you, and if someone drops out whoever is queuing with notifications on is told and can step in. By default people can drop out from their phone up to two hours before, so prepared clay does not go to waste; you stretch or shorten that margin yourself, from zero to forty-eight hours. For a one-to-one wheel lesson you create an item for a single person.
Reminders, delays and special evenings
Reminders arrive as notifications for people who turned them on, by default the day before and two hours before, and an «I’ll be there» tells you they are coming. Anyone not using notifications hears from you: one tap on the booking opens WhatsApp with a ready message, from the studio number. If unloading the kiln holds you up, mark the delay and the next arrivals read it before leaving. For a birthday or an office night out, someone who finds no room can send «Request an extra appointment» and suggest a time outside your classes. Mark anyone who skips without warning, and their bookings wait for your approval.
What stays with you
SeeYouNext sells no class series and takes no payments: each session is booked on its own and you collect fees as you do today. Online a person holds at most two active classes at a time; someone following a course over several evenings adds them one after another, or you put them in the diary. For teenagers a parent books, with the child’s name in the note. The app does not tell people on its own when their pieces come out of the kiln: you let them know on WhatsApp. Anyone teaching with you joins as staff, with the permissions you choose. Your page shows photos of finished work and a notice at the top, for example about the summer break.
