In detail
A bocce club with its lanes in order, even for members who skip the phone.
At a bocce club, bookings still go through the notebook by the register and calls to the clubhouse. Nobody has to change their habits: younger members book from the link, the rest ask you, and every lane sits on the same calendar.
Every lane with its own name and photo
Lanes become cards: “Lane 1 indoor”, “Lane 4 outdoor”, “Regulation court”. For each one you choose how long a rental lasts, say half an hour for a few throws or an hour for a game to points, and upload a photo of the surface, so whoever books knows whether it’s synthetic or packed clay. Your page builds its list from these cards with nothing else to write. You manage up to 12 lanes in one account and see at a glance which are taken in the afternoon, when the club fills up.
The front-desk notebook, but tidy
Plenty of bocce players book in person, at the club bar, or by calling. For them you set the lane from the app in seconds, typing the name or dictating the booking by voice while you pour a coffee. Numbers stay in your contacts, with your own text notes, and next time you find them by searching the name. For people without notifications turned on, you send the reminder yourself: one tap on the booking and WhatsApp opens from the club’s number with a message already written, showing day and time.
Singles, pairs and teams on the Who’s playing list
A bocce game takes two, four, six or eight people. Whoever books sets how many are needed and sends the link to partners and opponents: each answers with their name and, with two sides, picks theirs, say Reds versus Greens. The list shows a first name and last initial, and the count says how many are still missing. Members without a smartphone you add yourself from the booking card, and you mark their answer for them when they give it to you at the counter.
Busy afternoons, quiet mornings
If evenings or weekends carry a different lane price, each card takes up to three bands by day and time, and the person booking sees the amount before confirming; if your club doesn’t post rates, keep prices hidden. When every lane is taken, anyone waiting can join the waiting list and, with notifications on, learns right away if one opens up. Cancelling from the phone follows a 24-hour rule by default, which you can shorten if your members only need to let you know that morning.
