In detail
A makeup artist’s calendar: studio days, weddings and dawn alarms.
A makeup artist works in the studio on ordinary days and somewhere else on the big ones: at the bride’s house at six in the morning, in a hotel suite before a ceremony, backstage at a photo shoot. You need a calendar that holds all of it together and that clients can use on their own.
Day, evening, bridal
Your starting list has day makeup at forty-five minutes, evening makeup at one hour and bridal makeup at an hour and a half, plus a service for the look the bride wants to try before the event. Rename and adjust as you like: mother of the bride, maid of honor, stage makeup for men. Each service has its own length and the page only offers times where it fits. Every active service can also be booked from the link: if you want to discuss bridal makeup first, say so in the notice at the top of your page and add it yourself once you have talked it through.
The wedding day
Bridal makeup does not happen during studio hours: you start before sunrise or on a Sunday. You add times outside your usual hours yourself, for that one booking only, without opening Sunday mornings to everyone. If the bride, her mother and two friends get ready one after the other, create their appointments in a row, each under her own name. Say on your page that you also work at home and on location, and your studio address with its map stays there for clients who come to you.
Trying the look ahead of time
Weeks before the event the client comes to the studio to see the makeup on her own face. That is the moment to lock in the big date together: you put it in the calendar while she is still sitting at the mirror, and she finds it on her page. Online, each client can hold two active bookings at a time; the rest, like the bridesmaids, you add yourself. If the ceremony moves, the client asks for a new time from her page and you accept with one tap. In the notes, write down the shades chosen and the products used.
Holidays, recitals, events
In December and in wedding season requests pile on top of each other. With the waitlist, anyone who cannot get Saturday leaves her name, and if someone cancels she hears about it automatically. You pick the cancellation cutoff, up to two days ahead, so a bridal booking does not vanish the night before without a word. Reminders arrive as notifications for clients who turned them on; for the others you send one on WhatsApp in one tap, from your number with the text ready. Fill the gallery with your work and put the link in your bio: people who choose by photos book right away.
